This policy explains what data the app handles.
Data stored only on your device
The app has no account system, no login, and no backend server of its own. The following is stored locally on your device only, and is never transmitted anywhere:
- Your dice set configuration (dice types, counts, modifiers, roll mode)
- Theme and appearance preferences (colours, style, animation, sound, haptics)
- Your roll history (up to the most recent 500 rolls)
- Which premium themes you’ve unlocked and for how long
This data stays on your device and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app. We never see it, store it, or have access to it.
Advertising
The app shows two types of ads via Google AdMob (Google’s advertising platform): rewarded ads (which you choose to watch to unlock a premium theme or feature) and occasional interstitial ads between rolls. To serve these ads, Google’s Mobile Ads SDK collects:
- Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, advertising ID on Android)
- Standard technical data needed to serve an ad request (device type, OS version, approximate region)
- Which ads were shown and interacted with, for Google’s own ad measurement

App Tracking Transparency (iOS) & consent (EEA/UK)
On iOS, the app asks for your permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework before using your device’s advertising identifier for personalised ads. If you’re in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, the app presents Google’s consent form (via the User Messaging Platform) before loading any ads, letting you choose your ad personalisation preferences. You can change this choice later from the app’s Settings → Privacy settings.
Declining either does not block any feature of the app — you can always roll dice and use every non-premium feature ad-free; declining only means you’ll see non-personalised ads instead.
Children’s privacy
Dice Roller is a general-purpose dice-rolling utility, not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Ads are configured as non-child-directed by default.
Your rights
Since nearly all app data lives only on your device, you control it directly — uninstalling the app removes it completely. For data collected by Google as part of ad serving, you can manage your ad personalisation and data choices through Google’s Ad Settings or your device’s own privacy settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
